Question:

My 6 year old son is on Nitrofurantoin for an upper UTI, is it normal for this medication to give him mouth?

ulcers, he has about 4 or 5 on his lower lip and one in his upper mouth and they are really sore. should he stop the medication or carry on with it? is this a normal reaction?

  1. It may be suppressing some of the natural bacteria in the mouth. Call his pediatrician and let him/her know.
