he he. just kidding. don't these questions make you wonder how to reach these people before this happens?

if someone back yard breeds their dog (no puppymill) without proper knowledge or prior testing, is that better than the dog being in a shelter or with that irresponsible owner? (considering, the dog's litters ending up in the shelters, euthanization numbers going up to make room for the pups, etc)

  1. Good question

I say lets the puppies go to shelters. Before the thumbs down roll in, Just listen to my logic. If your buying pups from BYB's & their making money off them than it will only encourage them to breed more. If they realize that this not a avenue for making money maybe they'll ez up or go find another way to make money.

  2. I hate when I see questions like that!

My friend's parents are backyard breeders, to the full extent. They don't test their dogs for everything they should, they don't get enough vet visits, and the owners have NO idea what they're doing!

When their female went in to heat for the first time, the male tried to mate with her, (more then a few times) but fortunately the male was too young to mate. My "friend" was so excited because she thought the female was pregnant.

On the female's next heat cycle, they bred her with their male, and she had ten pups. They were planing to breed her every heat cycle before I convinced them that they could kill her. Man, I hate going to their house! I always try to educate them on proper breeding as much as possible.

They also let their intact female cat breed whenever she wants with the neighbor cats. She just had another litter a couple of weeks ago. She has litters all the time, just whenever!

They are such irresponsible pet owners!

I'd say it would be better for the dog to be in a shelter then with a backyard breeder.

Hopefully one day, this world will change, for the benefit of the animals.

  3. OMG...I hardly ever answer dog Q's anymore, but this caught my attention. I was thinking...NO...you allowed your dog to get pregnant after a miscarriage. It seems these people are "unreachable" they have no interest in learning. Sad, but true :)

  4. I say we gas all those people with CO2 and watch them die. The world doesn't have enough resources for us to be wasting them on morons.

  5. I'm with Lacie, this one caught my eye and then I saw who posted it, and before reading the rest of it, I thought, she is a top contributor, how could she let this happen.

then I saw the joke ha ha just kidding.......

people do this all the time, and it is mostly back yard breeders, they don't care how young or how many times they miscarry, just so they get litters out of the poor dog.

it does not good to try to educate these people, and the poor dogs are the ones suffering from it.......those kind of people should be locked in a crate and never let out, and only fed once a day if that.

and puppy millers and back yard breeders do not test their dogs, they don want to spend the time or money..they just want the money they can get from selling these poor babies, and medical care is hardly ever given...we have busted a many puppy mills and its pitiful at the sick dogs...and you can tell they have never been given any medical care at all..
