Thank you to those of you who have answered me so far. I was just a littlle worried as her other 2 kittens have ferocious appetites & have been fully weaned from 5 weeks old. I have tried an assortment of different foods in various different ways, only time will tell I suppose.

  1. Try offering it different types of food, like well shredded chicken breast, low salt tuna or salmon.  I wouldn't be worried, it's still pretty young and it's moms milk is awful yummy.  It's ok for kittens to nurse well beyond this age - but keep offering food, it will figure it out.

  2. Most 7 week old kittens should still be nursing.  It's way too early for them to eat solid food.  When the kitten is healthy enough and mum is ready, she'll wean the kitten.  I've heard of kittens continuing to nurse for months and months.

  3. it is normal

he/she is very young and mom nursing him/her till now is very much normal .

just provide the proper kitten food such as royal cannin , or wet food .

well actually the mother should be on kitten food, with time she is going to present and teach her babies to start on depending on themselves.

if you still insist you can try wetting the dry food with KMR or water , dip your finger in it and wipe it in the kittens mouth to taste it , put him.her close to the bowl ( a bit flat one for easy eating) to sniff and smell it.

    good luck

  4. Nothing wrong with that, most kittens start weaning at 8/10 weeks.

Give him/her time, she will be fine. Mummy cat will know when to get him/her on to solids. x

  5. At seven weeks, she should definitely be eating some solids. She can't maintain on "milk" alone.

Try offering up some smelly canned foods. Warmed to entice even more if necessary.
