  1. Have you taken her to the vet yet? It's possible she hasn't had any shots yet, could have worms, etc. The best thing to do is have her checked ASAP.

  2. has she been wormed they need to be wormed regularly at this age. But i would take her to the vet it sounds like she has a virus, Has she had here needles?

  3. Take her to another vet. There is a test for parvo, and you need to know for sure.  Did they take her temperature? Parvo causes fever, not cold. It also causes vomiting and bloody diarrhea.  Internal parasites can cause diarrhea too. Ask the vet for a de-worming schedule.

Have you switched dog food? Sudden changes in my pit's diet usually give him diarrhea. To avoid that problem, mix the new food in with the old a little at a time. Gradually decrease the amount of the old food until she is completely on the new food.

My pit gets cold easily, especially when he was a puppy. The hair is so short. The pup really should have stayed with her mother and litter for 8 weeks. She would be warm sleeping next to her mom. Put her crate in a warmer part of the house.

At that age they do sleep a lot.

  4. I say take her to the vet ASAP!

  5. First thing did you talk to the owner who had the puppy before to see what they were feeding her.. If not and you changed the type of food she was eating this could have caused her to get a belly ache which can cause the diarrhea.  Plus being a new home can cause a little anxiety give the pup a couple of days make sure she gets water so she does not get dehydrated. A puppy will sleep a lot this allows them to grow to be strong.

If things do not change and the diarrhea get worse and she does not drink water get her to the vet ASAP.

  6. I just went thru this and please keep your dog hydrated it is the only way to help them have a chance. my angel passed on monday from either parvo or worms, we couldnt afford the vet stay either and I have been labeled a dog hater... but times are very tough and I have the money now but it is too late.. but to keep the pup hydrated you may have to rectally inject some water into her/him. I found this out after she passed. Parvo lasts for up to 10 days so be prepared for long days and nights. for the water, use a medicine syringe or a nasal sucker (blue bulb) dont do it too fast you dont want it to be an e***a.. but do it often I would hate to here your pup died, we have had 6 dogs on my street die from this.Google " when a parvo puppy dies" or "worms" and your breed of dog, this should give some valuable info, it did for me but it was too late.but i would say the main thing is to keep the pup hydrated, dont give it anything to stop the diareha or vommiting, lots of water or pedialyte, try food my pup quit eating and drinking and honestly it was 3  days and she was gone. sorry for the sad story, good luck!!!

  7. There is a simple test to check for parvovirus. The test does not cost that much, but if it is parvo, you need to realize that untreated puppies usually die. Many puppies that ARE treated die also. Parvo is a deadly puppy disease, and pitbulls are VERY susceptible to parvo. And yes, $200/day is about right. The puppy will have to be in quarantine, with IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and intensive care. The technicians who handle the puppy's care cannot touch another puppy that day, because of the threat of transmission. We used to assign one tech to work with the quarantined puppies each day. It is a labor intensive job, because of the cleaning up diarrhea, keeping the puppy clean, administering medication, and germ control. We kept a bleach foot bath right outside the quarantine door, so that when you stepped out of the door, you stepped in it with your shoes so we didn't track the virus all over the hospital.
