My 7 year old needs teeth fillings

My 7 year old son was at the pediatric dentist today, he said he has a cavity in 1 permanent molar and 2 baby molars. He also said 3 teeth need sealant. I have 3 questions, Do his baby teeth really need to be filled? How long will it take for a filling and is sealant necessary and at all harmful? They also said they will give nitrous oxide, is this safe for children also?

  1. CHRIS,

NITROUS OXIDE IS VERY SAFE FOR CHILDREN. SEALANTS FOR TEETH PREVENT FUTURE DECAY. BABY TEETH NEED TO BE FILLED BECAUSE NOT DOING SO CAN LEAD TO AN ABSCESS FROM A NERVE INFECTION.

  2. I think its safe. My little brother had to get 9 cavities filled after Halloween lmao. And he was only like 4. They just put him to sleep. I don't think it harms the child.
