  1. Aloe Dent is a gentle tasting gel if they are his baby teeth it won't matter when they fall out though will it?

If they are still his baby teeth tell him new ones won't grow back if you don't brush them so when these fall out you will look like this http://www.petersontuners.com/oldweb/ima... for ever.

It used to make me gag when I was a kid keep trying.

    Good luck

  2. When I was a kid, I used flavoured toothpaste. You can get it in loads of different flavours like strawberry and stuff. Also don't tell him that its toothpaste, or say its 'special toothpaste' or a new brand of sweets or something.

I know it sounds bad, but basically trick him into using flavoured toothpaste, because if he isn't using toothpaste then he could risk having cavities or something bad like that.

    Good luck dude =)

  3. When my sister in law was 7, she wouldn't brush her teeth either - I went on the internet looking for pictures of people with bad dental hygiene (ie rotten teeth) and showed them to her - that did the trick! And we bought her some Strawberry flavoured toothpaste which she quite liked.

  4. get spry tooth gel for infants. its safe to swallow, clear and the only flavor there is is sweet.

my son loved it so much I would have to hide the bottle so he wouldn't eat it.

  5. You can get strawberry and orange flavoured toothpaste, I think it's Milk Tooth that do it.

    Good luck!

  6. proberly every child refuses to brush their teeth at some point during their life. it's important that he brushes his teeth, even if its using just water and a brush.

You say he hates toothpaste, have you just tried mint flavours? oral B make a good range of toothpaste for children called 'stages'. toothpaste is an important source of flouride.

VERY IMPORTANT: never, ever physicly force him to brush, he only rebel more.

if you are worried about the yellowness, or staining see your familly dentist.

    Good luck

  7. ~We couldnt afford toothpaste when i was a kid and we used the soot of the back of the chimney.......HONEST

  8. take him to a cvs or target and have him pick a kid friendly one.

  9. try strawberry flavoured toothpaste

  10. try children's flavoured toothpaste you can get toothpastes with charecters on like at asda they sell bart simpson toothpaste with him brushing is teeth on it tell him bart likes brushing his teeth why don't you? i don't know i don't have kids =D hope i've helped anyway and you could try flavoured mouthwashes and tell him it's just like a drink you spit out but helps you have a beautiful smile =*D

  11. Try kid friendly flavors.  I know they make bubble gum flavors and grape flavors...  If that doesn't work, you'll just have to issue some tough love...  Teeth are important and you should make sure he understands that...  I would show him some pictures of what his teeth will look like if he DOESN'T brush...  Maybe that will scare him into wanting to... Ya know?

  12. Did you know that you don't have to use toothpaste? According to the June issue of the Journal of Periodontology: Brushing your teeth without toothpaste may remove more plaque than using the popular minty, fluoride enhanced pastes and gels, according to a new study.

Although millions of Americans wake each morning and squeeze a glob of paste onto their toothbrushes as part of their morning routine, researchers said there may be no benefit for plaque removal by using the products. Plaque is the sticky, bacterial buildup that accumulates on teeth and must be removed daily to prevent tooth decay. Brushing and flossing is the method recommended for maintaining good oral health.

They found that use of toothpaste accounted for a 50 percent reduction in plaque, but teeth that were brushed without toothpaste had a 56 percent reduction in plaque. Researchers concluded that brushing without toothpaste was more effective in removing plaque from the front surface of teeth. The mechanical action of brushing (moving the brush up and down or sideways) may have been the main factor in determining effectiveness of plaque removal, they said.

However, brushing teeth with fluoride toothpaste is recommended by dentists as an important component of good daily dental hygiene and to fortify and strengthen teeth to prevent tooth decay.

  13. Either use brute force or take him to the dentist or get fruit flavoured tooth paste.

    Hope this helps

  14. get bubblegum bugs bunny toothpaste, yummy and it cleans their teeth.

see the link for a pic, you can get it at asda and tescos.

  15. I've seen Strawberry and banana flavours - he could try those.

Maybe a reward chart with a prize at the end for cleaning his teeth properly would work.

He's probably old enough now for you to explain why he needs his teeth to be cleaned (to avoid bad teeth/pain)- get some plaque disclosing tablets from the dentist - that might help.

  16. you can get toothpaste specially for kids, its flavoured and the tubes usually have pictures of disney characters on them, look around you should be to find them in one of your local supermarkets or pharmacies, alternatively go tpo your dentist they might have some solutions, they might even to able to convince your son that its not so bad.

  17. They do make non-mint flavours. What does his dentist say?
