  1. If your cat has ringworms you need to take it to the vet IMMEDIATELY, even if you are broke, that isn't an excuse. If you don't have the money to pay for it surrender it to a local animal shelter. When you take in an animal you are making a commitment to it, if you can't keep your promise to care for that animal then you should no longer own it.

Take it to the vet, don't try to put bleach on the poor animal's coat.

  2. eww

  3. First of all, it's ringworm, not worms.  Secondly, it's not a worm but a skin fungus.

If it's limited to a few well defined spots, you can probably treat it with Lamisil cream (active ingredient terbinafine).  Another good treatment is Program, which you'd have to get from a veterinarian.  Bathing the cat with a good anti-fungal shampoo often helps, but rarely does the job all by itself.

Many strains of ringworm are geophilic, meaning it's normally found in the environment; these usually infect the skin only if there is a cut, abrasion, or some kind of immune impairment.  Others are found only on living creatures; these tend to be more contagious.  Wash well after handling the cat, and treat anything it sleeps on with bleach (if possible) or just a good scrubbing.

  4. Definitely do NOT use bleach on your animal! Bleach and other harsh cleaners can cause severe chemical burns, and can cause serious internal damage if ingested (and since cats groom themselves, they are very likely to ingest anything that's been topically applied).

Even if you can't afford a trip to the vet, you should at least call your vet and explain the situation.  Most vets will give good, basica advice over the phone.  If yours won't, you might try calling a few other vet clinics.

The absolute best thing you can do -- to ensure that your cat receives the proper treatment and isn't exposed to any unnecessary risks -- is to get the advice of a good vet.

    Good luck!

  5. That's serious.  Try this site:

    http://www.cat-world.com.au/Ringworm.htm

There is also an over the counter ringworm medicine.  I know Amazon.com sells it, I don't know who else does.  Here's that site: http://www.amazon.com/Feline-Ringworm-30...

    and, here's one more

    http://www.doctorfungus.org/Mycoses/vete...

Hope they help.  I know what it's like not to have money to buy extra stuff like medicine.

  6. PLEASE, DO NOT PUT BLEACH ON ANY ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a web site on ring worm in cats:

    http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?...

Please read it so you can be educated about what you're possibly dealing with.  You really need to take the cat to a vet to get it properly diagnosed.  Be sure to wear some latex gloves & wash thoroughly after handling your cat.  You can buy cheap gloves at the dollar store.  According to the above article, if it is ringworm, many times it will simply resolve itself without you doing anything, but you really need to make sure this is actually what your cat has.
