My 8 month old son keeps taking his diapers off. Any tips?

Actually he started doing it at 7 months, but luckily we've only had 2 poopy messes to clean up. It's summer time and can be hot at night, and he doesn't like a lot of trappings on him. Are there any diaper covers or briefs you can put on them at this age? He does it every chance he gets and putting a whole outfit on him or even a onesie seems a bit much.

  1. This is normal so you shouldn't worry about it take a look at this website it will help you along your way.

  2. duct tape haha no just kidding, they make rubber pants for when you start potty training maybe something like that to go over the diaper area.

  3. The backwards answer is interesting!  I might give that a try myself if I need too .... my 5 month old son has just started to undo his diapers too .... however, I do always sleep him in a onsie, or a tank top onsie on the hot nights .... OR like other "moms" suggested, just put a pair of cotton shorts on over the diaper.  Good luck and all the best =)

  4. ok this is kinda silly but just super glue them together and that should work ( i have tired it ) good luck!!

  5. Just get a tank top onesie - he shouldn't get too hot in this and it will keep the diaper on.  Duct tape....? Super glue.....? seriously people!

  6. How about covering his diaper with a pair of shorts? If it's too hot just put shorts on him that will cover the diaper and just no shirt. During the day just make sure his diaper is always covered with something a pair of shorts, or pants, etc.

    Good Luck

  7. like christy said, an article in parenting magazine suggested putting strips of duct tape over both of the tabs. it's too strong a hold for the child to pull off. the mom who tried it said that her baby eventually stopped trying forgot about it.

  8. I just read in a Parents or Parenting magazine that a mother used duct tape.  Sure it makes it hard to reuse if it isn't dirty yet, but the article said that it kept her daughter from pulling off the diaper!  I'd say, give it a try!

  9. there are lots of little diaper covers you can use. Mainly I see them for girls, to go under dresses and such, but I saw some for boys the other day at a little boutique. But if you dont mind the girl ones for just at night, there are plenty of those out there. Also gerber makes those plastic pants to go over cloth diapers. I dont know how comfy those would be, but they are cheap and you can get them at wal mart. You could also use any other cover designed for cloth diapers too- just google diaper covers and you should find a lot. good luck!

  10. You can stop him from taking off his diapers by not giving him an opportunity.  Keep his diaper covered.  There are such things as clothes, you know.  :)  Keep him in a onesie or a light pair of cotton shorts.  If you keep the diaper covered, he can't take it off.  I agree that sometimes putting a whole outfit on him can be a bit much, but keeping his diaper covered is perfectly reasonable.

  11. My son started doing this too at this age and I got him a potty.  When he takes his diaper off I put him on the potty.  He is not able to tell me yet when he has to go, but I think he is telling me his wet or dirty by taking off the diaper.  Try putting him in some pull ups or  I know it sounds funny, but I put toddler underwear over his diapers.  He's 13 months now and is already potty training.

  12. I had to put my daughters diaper on backwards. It worked for us.
