  1. I am actually a vet tech and have had these questions often. This is exactly what will happen, give or take the protocols of the vet hospital.

Your pet will go in to the vet in the morning of the surgery, she will need to be fasted according to the vets instructions. She will get a physical exam and then get some pre-med (which is a sedative mixture to make them calm) then after about 20-30 minutes then will probably do an IV catheter and start her on fluids(sometimes the fluids is optional, i STRONGLY recommend doing fluids, easy iv access and helps keep the blood pressure up.) After the cathter is in, they will induce her anesthesia and intubate her(place a tube in her trachea) after she is maintained on her general anesthetic they will spay her and wake her up after she is all finished her surgery.

Depending on how the duties in the hospital are split up, the vet or vet tech will keep monitoring her through her recovery.

When she goes home, she may go home with a cone collar if she licks or chews at her incision. She may be a bit groggy for the first day and quiet for a few days she also may not want to eat as much. Keep an eye on the incision and make sure it doesn't get hot, red or have any discharge around it. If you notice any strange behavior such as not eating after a few days, call and talk to the vet or vet tech. You will probably have a check up in about 10-14 days at which time they will look at the incision and remove the sutures!

  2. nothing bad.

they may be groggy and in a little pain..u can get them pain medicine. they may sleep and not use the restroom or eat for a few days..after that they should be fine. after a few days if she doesnt perk up, or you notice anything different in the incision place call the vet ASAP

  3. Not much they will be sore for a bit but they bounce back within a few days.

The surgery is pretty minor the vet i interned with did them in like 10 minutes without a single complication while i was there.

She will probably just want to lay around for a few days
