Does anyone have any idea what caused this. It is not an undescended t******e due to the fact, he is 8 and never been diagnosed with this problem. I am having trouble locating anything on the internet. We are going to see a pediatric urologist, but I am concerned and would like to do some research before the appt?

  1. Something similar happened to one of my sons.  His testicles were descended at birth.  When he was about 4, one of them started going back up inside him.  He had gotten a kink and it was pulling the t******e back inside.  We had surgery done and he's been ok since.

One concern should be how long your son has had this condition.  It is possible for the t******e to die if it is back inside the body for too long.  The good part is that he can still produce children with only one t******e.  I hope everything works out ok for your son -

  2. This is checked at birth. Also it is unusual that he has never noticed before now. This makes me think, that it is not an undescended t******e.

He might be able to push it back down again just by applying light pressure just above the s*****m by the applicable side of his p***s.

Each t******e descends through a cavity which, as he gets older is probably too small for his testicles to pass back up into. Sometimes this is not the case. Some guys live their entire lives with a large cavity and his testicles can retreat up there and be pushed back down again... at will.

  3. Dear mother of that 8 year old boy:you want to do some research:but why?

Do you really think that you will get any proper answer to your question.

We cannot diagnose his condition ,only the Dr can.

So ,leave all the answers for what they are and listen to the Urologist.

He will have the answers ,not us.

  4. This could be a retractile t******e and not an undescended t******e.  Does it come down at all when he is relaxed or in a warm tub?  If so, it is a retractile t******e.  Sometimes, the urologist will not know until the child is under anesthesia and then it may come down.  By his age, if it ever was undescended, it would have come down if it were going to come down at all (usually by age 5).  He may require an orchidopexy - a tacking of the t******e to the wall of the s*****m to keep it from going into the inguinal canal.  It is a simple, quick, outpatient procedure.  Naturally, the urologist is the only one to determine if this is the correct diagnosis.

  5. i think it might be an undesceneded t******e you are better off asking the DR this question i wish him the best .

  6. does he have pain i know people who have come into the clinic with torsion's does he have any pain.... I dunno but i'd be in the ER if my kids t******e wasn't right I'd scared poor him good luck

  7. Yes. It is undescended testis and you just did not noticed it before. There is no other reason to remain up there. At the age of 8, it is too late to hope for a natural descend. Surgery is a must

  8. the urologist will diagnose him but make sure you go and get it taken care of. This could be a real problem for him later in life and he will be glad that you did it now.

  9. i might be inclined to say that it is an undecended t******e. no worries but surgery might be needed to bring it down. this happens in some boys. if it is not fixed it could cause him harm later in life. you are doing the right thing by seeing a urologist. if you need someone helpful to talk to, email me. i will try to offer the best advice i can. hopefully everything turns out fine. good luck.
