  2. Turn the TV off.

  3. limit what she should be watching.  My 7 y/o is only allowed certain channels and shows.

explain a lot of tv is fake, tell him what they do to make it look so real (fake blood is corn strup and red food colo, vomit is pea soup) and maybe make some with him to see its harmless

ask him what about it bothers him

  4. he probably saw miley cyrus' music video

  5. Turn the television off.

  6. Depending on what it is that is scaring him and what sort of cable service you have, TiVo for example carries with it's service parental controls, so that you can block any unwanted channels or content. Poor guy! Good luck! Also, if it seems to be trivial, seemingly benign things that are scaring him, it could indicate a deeper problem, talk to him about it.

  7. How about only letting him watch appropriate things on TV? Anything that makes him scared is not appropriate.

Come on, you shouldn't need to be asking this. It's basic parenting.

  8. no TV?

  9. use parental block and make him watch shows that are good not like baby shows like Nick or Disney hope it helps =)

  10. That's odd.  What r u letting him watch?!

  11. Hahah he is just grossed out about what is on T.V. But a 8 year old is a little to old to be getting scared of things on basic cable.

  12. First tell him, theres nothing to be afraid of. I watch TV, and theres really nothing scary about things. Give him a hug, and say trust me, I love you, and I don't want to do anything to hurt you. Just be calm, gentel, and you know help him. =] Hope this helps, good luck!

  13. what is he watching? Make him read or go outside. Maybe you should block channels that have the scary stuff.

  14. don't let him watch TV this was so obvious

  15. Do not let him watch those things. Or just take the tv away. There are plenty of other things an 8 year old can do.

As someone else suggested, if it is odd things getting to him it may be time for a trip to the doctor.
