  1. He could be lying to get attention or to avoid trouble, so he may need to be reassured that you still love him and he will be in less trouble if you hear the truth and that's the most important thing.  You also need to model being honest all the time yourself so never tell him anything that is incorrect or untrue.  Be clear and consistent with your expectations.

If none of those seem to apply, then he may need to see what its like to be lied to.

Tell him he's going to an amusement park or zoo or getting a special toy or favorite food.  Be specific and believable and build the excitement etc.  Maybe a day or two in advance.  Then when the time comes tell him..."Oh, I'm sorry.  I lied."  Make sure you get him to express how disappointed he is and how he feels to be lied to.  If everyone is honest everyone will have less hurt feelings.  Tell him how bad you felt making this happen and you're willing to make 'a deal'.  I won't lie if you won't.

  2. In my house lying always got a spank on the bare rear - it works.

  3. Send that child to timeout 4 8 minutes. then come back and ask 4 the truth. If he dosen't give u the truth just walk away and try again. P.S. don't talk to him when he is in time out!!!!!!

  4. Well the best thing to do is sit hi,m down and explain to him that lying is wrong what is he lying about mostly?? if its little white lies like "ive got a new toy" and things lik that then that is perfectly normal as every child goes through that faze but best thing to do is explain to him that lying is wrong hope this helps xx

  5. WAIT, I HAVE AN IDEA !!   **WHOOP THAT BUTT**

  6. well when i was a child and i lied i got a spankin. im not telling you to spank your child or anything.. but i was tought that if i told the truth no matter how bad whatever i got in trouble for  was i would get in less trouble than if i lied.

  7. If nothing works as far as punishment and you think it's a serious problem then I would get him checked to make sure he isn't bi-polar. Lying about everyday things and exaggerating the truth is a tell tale symptom. Especially in children.
