buy her some really cute older girls  cloths that all the little girls cant fit into and they will be so jealous.and tell your daughter to tell them when she grows out of them they can have them and they will want to be friends with her.

Take a look around at your family and your daughter's father's family how tall she will get is determined by genetics and all of her relatives are a part of her "gene pool".  Just think if she is tall enough when she is 18 she can try out for America's Next Top Model.

That's ok. I have a friend who was about 5 ft when she was around 7 or 8. Now, she's about 5'5" and we are both GOING to the 6th grade.

She will either

1-Stop there

2-Keep growing until she's about 10. Stop for about 2-3 years and grow again

She has MANY advantages than disadvantages. Like, my friend is 11 now(i think) and the size of an 8 year old. I was REALLY short when i was 7 and 8. Now, i'm not the tallest, but i am pretty tall for my age(i'm around 4'11"). Tell her, she's got nothing to worry about. If it happens again, go straight to the principal.

Also, i agree with one of the other answers, we only get teased for being SHORT

That is tall for her age.  Does it run in the family?  Girls hight generally peaks at early highschool so theroredically she has more time to grown but since she is already so tall she may have just rown early.  Keep her in flats and tell her that everyone else is just got to catch up!

Well, you can't help it from kids teasing her - she needs to learn to get over that. She's one of those girls who sprouts early - but will stop growing by middle school or beginning of highschool - while some girls grow all the way through college.

I don't know my height at 8 but at 9 and a half I was 5'4" more than 25 yrs ago and weighed 125lbs.  Anytime you are a little different from the peer group it puts you as a target.  Just focus on the positive, many actresses have mentioned that they were targeted for being tall, skinny, or having big lips.  I don't think she will be super tall.  Girls grow for 3 yrs after puberty.  Usually puberty begins after 100 lbs.  Many girls are 6'0 now a days.  I am 5'10 and have never had to look up to so many women in my life!  There have even been times where I am the shortest mom at the preschool.  I am like what?  I am worried to that my boys will be short!  There dad is 5'7.  At 2 when you double the height +/- 2 " my one son comes out to 5'6"!!!!  With the +/-2" he could be 5'4, then maybe he can be a jockey or something idk!

People grow at different times you shouldn't be too worried about it, I've always been a tall kid too and I'm only 5'7-5'8.

Though it would be wiser to check with a doc.

Doesn't look like she has gigantism.

Being Tall is way better than being dwarfish and short.

All children grow at different stages.  If she's being teased, tell her to tease the short people back.

She may have just sprouted early, it comes in spurts and can stop for years and start up again. Look at your hight and your familys hights, giving you an idea of how tall she will be. I woudln't worry.

I have a cousin that was 5'6" before she was 10

To day as an adult she is 5'6", and the shortest in the family

Some people grow early, and they hit they adult height before they are out of elementary school

My daughter is 8 and she is 54", she was the tallest girl in her class.  Her best friend was the smallest, it was hard to believe that they were in the same grade, I would say, close to 10" separate them

I know there is a test they can do to see how much more a child has to grow

My brother was over 6' at 14, and he got hit by a car.  They needed to know how much more or if he was done, he had five more inches to grow

Girls typically continue to grow until a couple of years after they start menstrating.  Since she is being teased, I would talk to her teachers about the bullying behavior.  Then,  I would talk to her about how wonderful it is and will be to be tall.  Point out tall movie stars, athletes, women on the street.  Let her know that many women would LOVE to have her height.  Help to improve her self-confidence and have her love being tall.  Make it a big deal when she outgrows pants and gets taller each year at her doctors visits -- make it a special thing to be tall and she will be able to withstand the teasing.  Good luck!

That's weird!

In my school you were never teased if you were tall you only were teased if you were small in my case lol!! I got over it and I didn't really care but it depends how much they tease your daughter.  Because they always teased me but they were my friends and they did it in a nice way. If so you have nothing to worry about  but if its pretty serious. I would tell there teacher and that might make them stop teasing her.

    It depends she might grow a lot or little it depends on how early or late she starts pubirty. But don't worry once the  other kids start growing she won't be the tallest anymore!

She might have just sprouted early and might not grow anymore, I wouldn't worry the others will soon catch up with her. She should be proud of being tall not ashamed!! x

Girl you better be happy.. get her into modeling asap! tehn when people run there mouth she can just say im a model!
