  1. Probably a bad plug wire shorting agianst the valve cover..

open the hood at night, and you probably would see a bright blue spark there....

Replace all the plug wires, and the cap and rotor while you're at it....

  2. A lifter could have collapsed causing the clicking sound you hear. If the lifter is collapsed then the cylinder is not filling or vacating properly causing the miss.

  3. check your spark plug wires for breaks in them, it sounds like you have one arcing, I would just buy a new set of wires and put them on.

  4. could be a broken or bad wire, stuck rocker or lifter or bad plug.. i could go on but you're not giving alot of info on this one.  check in the dark when its running--if you see a spark, you've got a bad wire. no spark--try the plugs first since thats the cheapest fix.. if you're still having problems, try to get it to a shop that can scan you engine. it could be internal.. usually these problems are easy fixes.. if it has a buttload of miles on it, you could need a valve job but its smarter to redo the whole thing..   why put a new top end on an old bottom end.. not good.

  5. Remove the valve cover from the side with the clicking noise.  Place a large piece of cardboard under the vehicle.  Start the engine. Observe all valve movement.  There should be a minimum of 3/8" movement on each.  If not then there may be worn cam lobes or a lifter issue.

As for the misfiring could again be due the lifter, cam, or a valve.  A compression test will narrow it down.  If all seems OK, then check the ignition wires with a timing light.  NO misses or double flashes.  If there are, then replace the cap, rotor, plugs, & ignition wires.
