My 86 Honda Rebel 250 is not running right.?

It will run but not idle. what would be the cause of the left cylinder not hitting at an idle but it will when you raise the RPMS. What should the valve adjustments be? Could that be the cause?

  1. could be out of timing.


  2. Check the carbs to see if they are balanced

  3. im having a similar problem with my motorcycle. There could be  a number of reasons electrical and mechanical though. Im thinking it might be the spark plugs. Make sure the oil and oil filter arent due for a change, and if all else fails, check the voltage output on your regulator to see if its producing enough voltage- that could be a big one, they go bad fast.
