  1. I would skip the juice and give her water, it's better for her.  Juice has lots of sugar in it that babies don't need.  It's pretty common for a breastfed baby to not want to take a bottle from mom - she knows you have the real thing, lol.

Also, It's totally fine to skip the baby food and go right to real food, my son has never had any puree baby food, he eats the same things we eat.  :)

  2. I started small amounts of juice at around 7 months, when I introduced the sippy cup.

If she likes water, that's the preferred thing to put in the sippy. But if she doesn't like it, small amounts of juice are fine too. (And yes, it's very common for babies to refuse the bottle from mama.  WHy should they take a bottle when they KNOW the breast is right there.  And juice shouldn't ever be put in a bottle anyway.   Bottles are for milk. Juice and water go in cups.)

  3. They say babies can have small amounts of juice after about 6 months but it's not important and it's not very good for children either- instead just plain water or breastmilk ina  sippy cup would be better. if you do use juice water it down a lot. about the food- jsut give her table food andd i bet she'll like food a lot better. babies don't need teeth to chew either and by feeding themselves they can regulate how much they eat better

  4. Of course she won't take a bottle from you===she's smart!!!!

She does not need any food yet, really, she gets what she needs from breastmilk.  And buying babyfood is a waste of money.  Mash up what you eat.  That's all.

And she does NOT need juice at ALL.  It has no nutritional value.  If you think she really does need it, water it down with at least 75% water, and give it in a sippy, never a bottle.

  5. My son was close to 11 months before we started juice. We did about 1 oz juice for every 4 oz water. According to Dr. Sears white grape juice is easiest on their intestines.

She should be OK with a sippy soon. I took my son to walmart and we picked out some cups together.  It made it fun for him.
