My 9 week old Puppy is so naughty!?

On Sunday my dad went out and bought us a brand new puppy which we were so excited about, he was scared at first and warmed to us really quickly. He did poo on the carpet and pee once but every time he did this we told him no and put him outside. We then put him to bed and he cried for a little bit but when we checked on him he was fast asleep. The next day he started to misbehave entirely. He tried to eat everything and we couldn't even blink before he did something wrong. He is now very aggressive and when you try to get him away from hurting himself he growls and turns his head to bite you. My 7 year old brother is now getting slightly scared of him and we are so stressed and tired from trying to handle him each day. We end up arguing with each other and ive never been so stressed and paranoid. PLEASE HELP. suggestions?

  1. hmmm i would suggest as soon as he's got all his shots enroll him in basic puppy obedience classes, it sounds like you may have a potentially dominant puppy who thinks he's the alpha already!!

so for now i would suggest you stay calm and tell your brother NOT to be nervous because he will be able to sense it and will probably misbehave worse around your brother, consider your self alpha, be confident and firm but NOT aggressive.

use treats and toys as your weapon, if he goes to bite you say 'HEY' or 'NO' and reward him for good behavior, for example start teaching him to sit and give you his paw to stimulate his mind, and always make sure there are plenty of different chew toys so he doesn't have to result in chewing the furniture!

and maybe instead of pulling your puppy away from something that you don't want him to do, clap you hands really hard and make a hi pitched noise and when he pulls away give him a treat, because usually if you pull a puppy in the opposite direction they get even more curious!

good luck with your puppy and just remember, getting frustrated and angry will only worsen your puppy's behavior, so stay calm and use positive reinforcement, and finally make sure all the family gets involved in training, discipline and play!!

  2. your dog sounds like it needs to get use to the new home and needs to build trust with his/her owners.

keep him/her on a schedule and keep up with the discipline.

other wise the behavior will get worse.

  3. Find a dog trainer near you...

We can all offer you advice but a trainer that can see and interact your dog will give you the best advice and will stop the behavior!
