My 9 week old daughter has started to quit breathing. It mainly happens when she is sleeping. She has been doing if for about 3-4 weeks now. She done it 2 times a couple of nights ago. When she stops breathing she sounds like she is strangling and trying to catch her breath. It scares me to death. I took her to the doctor and they have scheduled an appointment with the pediatric pulmonologist. Should I be scared and try to get her in earlier than they have scheduled it? I'm thinking about taking her to Kosairs Children's Hospital and taking her to the ER. I'm sure they can check everything out as good if not better than the pediatric pulmonologist. Do you think I should take her to the ER now or just wait till Wednesday?

  1. Do you really wanna risk this for a few more days? I would take her in IMMEDIATELY. Your poor baby's life is in danger. DO NOT WAIT. Tonight might be her last night if you don't act now.

  2. this is called sleep apnea. take her in NOW.

  3. even though they have the child scheduled for that i would take him/her to the er like you said it only takes a few seconds for something to majorly go wrong when she does that and its never to late or early to get something checked out if you do take them to the er i would do a curtious call to the doctor that placed the oppointment and tell them you were just getting anxious and took her up to the er to get checked out sooner

bottom line take her to the er itll do you better good that way

    thanks

  4. TAKE HER TONIGHT!!! DON'T WAIT!

    just me

  5. OMG, they made you wait!  Take her now!  And find a different doctor.

  6. Personally i would take my baby to the ER, it's always better to be safe then sorry.

Good luck with her, prayers are with you

  7. i would probably wait and just keep an eye on her when she sleeps. it sounds like she may have sleep apnea or asthma. it is common. and if she does have it then it can be treated. but, it's up to you, if you'd feel better about it then take her to the ER to get checked.
