  1. As long as your child will eat veggies, dont worry to much at this time about the fruit, as both fruit and veggies belong to the same food group. Have you tried, serving fruit with a sweet yogurt dip?or just making it more interesting for her, try fruit over a pancake, just try to   entice her with different ways of adding fruit, or even disguise it in something else. I hope something will work for her.

  2. Speak to your pediatrician and perhaps they will refer you to a nutritionist or a dietitian. They would be more qualified to help you introduce these foods into her diet. If it's a mental thing or a way of acting out, she may take nutritional direction from a doctor that she wouldn't take from you.

  3. You might want to have her checked for food allergies.

  4. either food allergy or she doesn't want it so she makes herself puke it up or even stomach digesting probs.

  5. How long has this been going on?  If she has been throwing up all these years when she eats fruit, and she is undernourished, and her growth is stunted, something is seriously wrong and has been for years.  What has your pediatrician been doing all this time?  Allergy tests? Vitamin supplements?  Or have you neglected taking her?

Take her to a good pediatrician for a thorough check-up and persist until you find out what is wrong!

  6. It's possible your daughter is allergic to citris. Can she drink juice? If she can use that as a subsitute. If she can't she could be malnourished (not blaming you) and it's possible she could get scurvy, and old pirate's disease from not eating any fruit for a while. I would go to the doctor's as soon as possible if juice doesn't work

  7. She could be allergic. I would have a doctor look at her. She is 9 years old by this age you and her should know if she is allergic or not.

  8. She doesn't have to eat fruit.  There are lots of other things that can provide the same vitamins with a different package.

Does she eat veggies?  How about enriched breakfast cereals, even pop-tarts.  They're packed full of vitamins.  They're putting extra vitamins in milk these days, and my kids love nutri-grain bars.  And Barilla pasta has come out with a new line of pastas that is so enriched, you don't need to eat meat with it--it's got all the fiber and protein and vitamins packed into it.  You could eat your spaghetti all by itself.

My son took medications at that age that caused him to lose weight.  From that time, and even to today (he's 17), I'll let him eat anything he wants just so that he can get some calories into his system.  He's still skinny, but he's almost 6' tall.

Don't worry about the fruit.  Worry about the calories and vitamins--plenty of protein.
