  1. Take him to your doctor my nine year old had the same problem he will put him on desmopressin.

It works wonders my child has been dry for 3 months

Dont be alarmed by it and definatley dont make it a issue it is more common in boys but also can be embarrasing

  2. he could have a sleeping disorder

  3. It happens to kids who spend a lot of time in front of the Tv or video games. Late dinners are also causative.

  4. Make the trip to the pediatrician just to be sure, but  many 6-10 year olds pee every night. My oldest boy wet until 13. Doctors said his bladder was too small for his body as he was a big kid. He would pee up to 4 times a night some nights, others not at all. If he fits under jams or good nights and he is comfortable in them then use them. But they usually all leak!  My son out grew them by 9. Plus they would not be any good if he peed more than once. He was a heavy wetter.

Make sure a plastic/ rubber sheet  is in good shape and support him on this. He hates waking up wet, so don't remind him by saying you're mad or disappointed. Hugs, kisses and love are all you can do. He is old enough to pull off his own wet sheets, so show him how and let him clean up. We didn't reward dry nights because they were few and it seemed to pressure and discourage him when he went weeks being wet every night. My oldest would pee in the car if he fell asleep for more than 2 hours! Even at 11 yrs! Talk about embarrassing for him,  he would wake up crying when he discovered his flood on the seat, and announced "daddy I peed again" through tears, we just couldn't be mad, we just accepted it as part of how he is for now. Like your boy and mine, they have no idea they're peeing and if they could stop it they would have already. Lots of love!!

  5. Sometimes it takes a long time to adjust to getting up in the middle of the night when your bladder tells you to.  I would try setting an alarm a few times during the night and waking your son up to take bathroom breaks.. maybe 2 per night.  It's a pain in the butt, but it's better than a wet bed!  It will help him acclimate to mid-night bathroom breaks, and hopefully waking up dry!  There are also wet-alarm pads that you can put in his PJs when he's sleeping that will wake him up if it senses wetness.  You just have to be patient and try different things.  Eventually, he will stop.

  6. Has he been through any emotional experiences recently? any changes? Is he ok at school? is he being bullied? is something more serious upsetting him

I know they are horrible things to think of but usually, its caused by upset or fear.

My daughter wet the bed all of a sudden when she was 8, I couldn't figure out why, and I found out from her school she was being picked on. It was awful, I felt so sorry for her. We got through it though and sorted it out.

    Talk to him.

Its either that, or hes just being lazy.

  7. too much to drink too late

    bad dreams

    getting too cold

not going to the bathroom prior to bed time

    blatter infection or issue

try adjusting those potential problems first then if it continues seek medical assistance.  It can be a bladder infections, issues with the kidneys or diabetes.  But dont jump to conclusions just yet.

Unfortunately, it could be Juvenile Diabetes (see above links for symtoms)

You should to take him to the doctor if your son has any of the other symptoms.

  9. Have there been any recent changes in your household such as a new baby or a divorce?  He might be anxious about something, that often leads to wetting the bed.

Another thing is that he might have grown, but his bladder may still be quite small.  So, make sure that he avoids liquids before going to sleep.

  10. Maybe he sleeps to hard or he doesn't feel it.  You should take him to the doctor.  They have medication that he can take that will dry the excess water so he won't wet the bed.  I had the same problem when I was a little girl.  I just grew out of it.  Hopefully he will too.

  11. No big deal. I've got 3 brothers. 2 of them outgrew it around the age of 9. One hasn't got rid of this habit yet.

My cousin had it till he turned 17.

  12. It could be a sleeping disorder, a slow maturing bladder, or many other things going on.  He should be seen by his doctor and have a check up.  Good luck

  13. I used to work for a pediatrician and I also have a 6 yr old with the same problem. In my case it turns out she is a very hard sleeper. She has been potty trained during the day since she was 18 months old but at night, she doesnt wake up for nothing. We also are a little embarrassed about pull ups at night, company, sleepovers, etc.

Here are a few things to try....... Limit liquids before bedtime and make sure they go to the restroom right before bedtime....Before you go to bed, try and get him to go to the bathroom again, even if you have to pick him up while she is half asleep and put her on the toilet. he might go and not even remember.

They say that if your child is a hard sleeper, they will eventually grow out of it. Each child is different and it may be even in the teens till she reaches that point.

Finally, if you are at your wits end, you might want to ask your pediatrician about a pill that also helps with bedwetting.

Dont get discouraged, there are a lot of moms with the same worries and concerns. Hope this helps and good luck

  14. He could have a UTI.

  15. NO DRINKS 4 hours before bed

step up as parents and say no drinks

or else he will wet the bed forever

MY 11 YEAR OLD SISTER STILL WETS THE BED

because my parents didnt put their foot down

but i did it for my8 year old brother no problem

if you r serious about it it will work

make sure house isnt to cold

if you have to put an alarm in your room for 2 or 3 in the morning to wake them up to use the bathroom

  16. Bedwetting is an issue that millions of families face every night. It is extremely common among young kids but can last into the p*****n years.

Doctors don't know for sure what causes bedwetting or why it stops. But it is considered a natural part of development, and kids eventually grow out of it. Most of the time bedwetting is not a sign of any deeper medical or emotional issues.

All the same, bedwetting can be very stressful for families. Kids can feel embarrassed and guilty about wetting the bed and anxious about spending the night at a friend's house or at camp. Parents often feel helpless to stop it.

There may not be a cure for bedwetting, but providing emotional support and reassurance can help your child feel better until it stops on its own.

    How Common Is Bedwetting?

Primary enuresis, the medical name for bedwetting, typically starts when kids are toddlers. It is very common among kids who are 6 years old or younger. About 15% of 6-year-olds wet the bed, while about 5% of 10-year-olds do.

Bedwetting often runs in families: Most kids who wet the bed have a relative who did, too. If both parents wet the bed when they were young, it's very likely that their child will

  17. he has lots of wet dreams.

  18. MANY boys have this problem it is generally due to a small bladder and it is something they will outgrow however it can definitely be embarassing for him and frustrating. pampers i believe has a new night pant that is less like a diaper and more like underwear. talk to the pediatrician about it but it is very very common in boys.

  19. Too much soda during the day, to many liquids before bedtime, to large of a snack before bedtime.  He needs an alarm set to get him up and out of bed to use the toilet in the middle of the night.  Anything else you might try taking him to the doctor.

  20. Take him to your physician.
