My 9-year-old son recently ate 8 pc. chicken strips from McDonalds and after he ate them, he had a lot of diarrhea. I know it was from those chicken strips because he didn't eat anything else all day! He hasn't had diarrhea in years! I can't believe a highly popular fast food restaurant like McDonalds could do this. Don't they serve at least 85% of America? Do you think I could sue them? Has this happened to anyone else?

  1. Hi, if you don't ordinarily have much fat in your son's diet, eight pieces of deep-fat fried and breaded chicken is a whole lot of fat to consume--and it can give a person diarrhea.

You can only sue if you can prove injury. An afternoon of the runs isn't going to get you a monetary award, just sympathy.

We're a low-fat household (because one person needs to eat that way) and because of that, when any of us eats at McDonald's, we get sick. It's nothing wrong with their food, but the amount of oil we're suddenly consuming.

It makes eating when we're traveling harder.

  2. It has happend to me because no fast food is good for yout body. Even though it taste good its horrible for your body. Its just better if you home cook. Oh some advice you should give your son pepto-bismo!

  3. My guess is he ate to much.  Chicken strips are pretty good sized and eating eight of them at 9 years old is a lot.  I'm 24 and I can't eat that many!!

Also, the flu is going around so it could just be bad timing or the effects from something he ate yesterday.

  4. IT PROBABLY WAS NOT FULLY COOKED ALL THE WAY

  5. Yes this happens every time we eat KFC. I really believe it is from ALL THE GREASE. We try not to go out to eat anymore its a waste of money for something that ends up getting screwed up and cold and nasty.

  6. He over ate. You should control his diet and the amounts he eats. It's the responsibility of the parents to see that children learn to eat properly and it's not fast foods.

  7. ate 2 fast or wasn't done

  8. I think he at too much for a 9 year old.  People do tend to get sick when they over eat, especially greasy fast food.  I don't think you could sue them but how about taking some personal responsibility for feeding your son c**p. At 9 years old you should be teaching him to eat healthy instead of contributing to obesity in the U.S

  9. They fry their chicken for preset times, so unless the kid making the food took it out too early or the oil was too cold, probably not food poisoning.  Most likely its because he ate 8 chicken strips, which are fairly large (I think the normal portion is like 3 or 4) and didn't eat anything else all day.  A 9 year old (or anybody) shouldn't be consuming that much oily/fatty food so his system probably protested.  Stick to no McDonalds or if he MUST go, get a normal sized portion and make sure he balances that out with better food for his other meals.

  10. I don't think you need to sue McDonald's for your son being sick.. That's a little extreme if you ask me. It's possible that the strips were old. It's also possible that they just didn't agree with him. It's also possible that he may have picked up something that caused the diarrea, which completely eliminates the possibility that food was the cause. Also, if your son hadn't had anything to eat except those strips, he could've had a reaction to having only that for his meal. The best way I can tell you to tell if it had been food poisoning, would be for you to check any chicken meals. If you tear open the strips/breast/wings, and the meat inside is pink, then don't let him eat it, because he will definitely get sick. Other than that, there are other causes of his illness that had nothing to do with the food, and you need to consider that too..

    Hope this helps :)

  11. yes, 8 is a lot..  and this time of year there are a lot of things going around..  it may not be connected to what he ate..

  12. Perhaps too many fried foods don't agree with your son's stomach.

  13. Don't give your kid Pepto. It really could kill them. Faster than the McDonald's. 8 strips is a lot. I can only eat 3 and I'm a fat@ss. And no, you can't sue them.

Get over it. It's just diarrhea. Give him clear liquids and rest.

  14. Because that's way too much food for a kid that age, especially if he also had fries and a drink.

And feed him more than once a day, huh....

  15. That is a lot of chicken strips on an empty stomach.  If you feel that your son has gotten food poisoning, call the health department and report the restaurant.  They will see if anyone else reports a problem from that restaurant.

As for suing them, you can contact an attorney who should tell you that you are full of what your son expelled.

Yes, this happens to people every day.  Some foods just don't agree with everyone.

  16. mcdonald puts S*H*I*T in its chicken
