My 91 escort gt transmission is bad. r there any other transmissions that will interchange?

i know mazda and ford have some parts that interchange. i just need a little help with this issue. thanks..

91-94 Protege transmissions should fit if I'm not mistaken. I really can't think of anything else that would do it right off the top of my head. I would suggest talking to an auto tech and seeing if they can help you out. I don't want to be the one to tell you something and it be wrong...probably best to go to the pros in this case.
