Question:

My 96' Ford Escort Station Wagon would stall on me whenever I'm stopped for a while in drive...

If I put it in nutral or park it would take a little bit longer for it to stall but not much. Now it's begun to stall on me just when I'm coasting in drive. It's really starting to be a hassle when driving. I really don't have the money to take it to a mechanic but I need to do something about it. I haven't gotten an oil change in a while and was curious as to if that could have something to do with it... Anyone know what the problem is?

  1. I would recomend checking and changing the air filter. If its clogged it will affect fuel economy and possibly be whats causing it to stall, air filters dont cost a fortune so that would be safest and cheapest.

  2. clean your fuel injectors but a bottle of fuel injector in it

  3. change ur fuel filter - it's cheap and should take care of ur problem.

Soon as u can, tho, u need to get oil change, tune-up, and new filters.

if ur air filter hasn't been changed in a really long time it could be causing ur engine to choke - ya gotta let it breathe.

  4. you may just need a tune up. which ofcourse will cost you some cash.

    good luck
