i have a 96 pontiac sunfire and my car wouldnt start not unless if we jump start it, and the battery gets drained. we took it to two different mechanics last week to get it checked, then both of the mechanics told us that it could be the alternator. so we bought a new alternator and change the alternator by ourselves and nothing happend. the car started once, but when i turned it off, & tried to turn in back on, it wouldnt turn on. what could be the problem?=/

  1. As a last resort did you have the battery checked out to see if it's good or not?

  2. lol @ people at there dumb answers

but iv seen this problem many many many times its a very easy fix it can be a few things what you need to do is

    1. Check your Battery Cables  connection make sure there clean not dirty ( the white stuff that builds up )  if that don't work follow your Wires from the Battery like make sure there not broke or messed up any where or lose any where and not getting a good connection

    2.  if #1 don't fix anything then its gets a lil more harder but mostly its cause by something that's staying on and drawing power while your car is off most your dome lights and dash lights are only 12volts so i doubt that's causing it it has to be something some where  email me if you need more help

btw do you have an AMP or put in a new radio and how long this been going on

  3. it's an american pile, of course it won't start
