I think its a sensor that allows the gas and oxygen to come together. Its sending too much gas. I need to change this sensor out but cannot find where its located under the hood. help?

  1. Use a scanner and see what Code is there, clear the code and drive the vehicle and see what code pops back up again. Many of these codes are old stored codes, just a place to start instead of replacing alote of stuff which doesnt need to be replaced, and not correct the problem.

  2. a "Haynes repair maual" will be your best friend. it will tell you how to check and read the engine codes and will also tell you where the sensors are located.  generally the oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold but is sometimes located by the catalytic converter in the exhaust.  the reapair manual will cost about 15 bucks. good luck.

  3. may be a leaky injector (one thats stuck open). Pull them out and inspect them.

  4. No such sensor. There IS an oxygen sensor(or 2, or 3, or4) that tells the fuel control computer how much oxygen is in the exhaust gases. Too much fuel=very little oxygen. Too little fuel =too much oxygen. I'm assuming someone pulled the trouble codes out of the computer, and it was an oxygen sensor code. Bear in mind that there are about 200 things that can cause an oxygen sensor code. take it to a qualified technician to PROPERLY diagnose.

  5. Throwing parts and money at a car won't fix it.Trouble shoot to identify the faulty part(s). Have you checked it's maintenance history ?

  6. what about fuel filter air filter and new plugs... which will also make a car run bad and the way gas is now days might just think its bad gas and then id try a bottle of fuel treatment and a fuel filter
