2 days ago i was driving when the security light came on, i turned the truck off and on again and the light was off, today when i tried to turn it on it sounded like it wanted to start but it didn't, it has a new battery, starter, alternator, wires, spark plugs, cap, rotor, and i got a new key from the dealer, i was searching and i think that it could be the ignition switch or ignition control module but im not sure... i need help please.......

  1. the problem is your vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) .

The computer is disabling the fuel system because it's not receiving the correct password to the pass-lock module.

The pass-lock sensor is part of the ignition case, your key does not have a chip.(it's a regular key).

    Here's how it works

If a VTD failure occurs during an ignition cycle that the control module has enabled fuel, then the control module will enter a fail-safe mode: Fail Enable (VTD System Failure with Fuel Enabled). The control module remains in Fail Enable Mode, for the current and future ignition cycles, until the fault is corrected and a valid password is received, or UNTIL BATTERY POWER IS REMOVED. If the battery is disconnected or the codes are cleared, the vehicle will lose its Fail Enable status and will not start until the fault is corrected.

If you have remote start, the problem lies there, if you don't, GM had problems with  ignition switches (electrical part)

The VTD needs to be relearned after-wards.

The right way is to have it scanned for security codes and proceed with the proper repair.

  2. your right it could be the coil but make sure the fuse aint poped cuz it happened to me after 100 worth of c**p. make sure the fuel is getting up to the intake by taking off the hose for the fuel

  3. if you are using the new key that you got from the dealer, it has to be programmed for the antitheft system. the chip is located on the key. the dealership has to program this.

  4. sounds like a coil or maybe a bad rotor on your distributor. I know you said its new but these foreign parts made for napa, auto zone etc... are alot of time c**p or out of spec. I have ran into alot of problems with parts from auto parts stores. I have seen a new rotor go bad with in a month the flat copper metal piece on the rotor was all melted and ate away.
