  1. I would start by just pulling tire off and looking at pads.Or maby checking brake fluid level?

  2. check the brake fluid then check the pads... smarter and cheaper than waiting til you have no brakes..  your getting a sign to check brakes so check brakes

  3. What turns the lite on and off is a brake fluid level sensor in the master cylander and the parking brake lever has a switch that reminds you that it is engaged. It sounds like the fluid is low in your master due to brake pad wear. as they wear, the caliper pistons move out and hold more fluid and lower the level in the master and turn on your lite. Adding fluid will keep  the lite off but pad replacement is probley in your near future.

  4. more than likely your master cylinder fluid is a little on the low side.. I would check that first... the fluid level drops as the pads wear , so if it is a little low I would recommend getting your brakes checked..
