  1. babies are made from love. Mommy has eggs and daddy has sperm that make a baby. This may be enough information to satisfy him til you find a books. Amazon.com has great books as your local library may have.

  2. Yes there are several books.  Check Amazon.  The best answer......babies are made out of love.

  3. I really hope this isn't the first conversation about s*x that you're having with him.  You can have this discussion very openly and honestly with age appropriate answers.  A nine year old can and needs to know more details than say a 6 year old, but both may have questions about s*x and how their bodies are changing.  Have an open conversation with him about his body and any feelings he may be having.  You don't need a book to do this.  If you're honest now, he'll feel more comfortable coming to you about his feelings and changing body as he gets older.

  4. My daughter had a basic understanding of this around 6 years old. She likes to read about animals a lot and the books talk about mating. She knows that a male and female need to mate in order to create offspring. She is now 8 and said something like "mom, how do you know when you will have another baby?" And I just told her to remember that a male and female (me and daddy) need to mate in order to have a child. I don't think she knows all about it, just that the two need to get close.

At 9 I will give more details if she asks. It's really not as big of an issue as people make it out to be. Start with animals if he doesn't already know. Then explain that girls have a v****a, boys a p***s. That is what the two use to mate. No biggie.

  5. Tell him they aren't made,

a stork brings them from Walmart

  6. Lol only thing you can do is tell him how to connect the dots.

  7. Explain it simply  in a way that he can understand.  Men make sperm, and women make eggs. When married grown-ups make love, the man puts his p***s inside the woman, and the sperm meet up with the egg, and then a baby grows inside the mother.

My daughter knew 'the basics' by the time she was 5.

  8. There's nothing confusing about it.  Just tell him.  He can understand at 9.  Including why it's inappropriate for him to experiment with the process.

Your local librarian (at the reference desk) can steer you toward appropriate books, if you like.

Also, the site below is useful for both parents and kids.

  9. wonder why he hasn't asked before now???? i had this conversation with my son when he was 3 1/2... so i told him... mommy has an egg... daddy has a sperm that makes the egg turn into a baby... he wanted to know if he had sperm, and i told him not yet.. but you will when you get older... so, he went to pre-school the next day and told everyone that when he gets bigger, he is gonna have sperm....

    My FAVORITE story!!!!

  10. Forget the book.  You know how babies are made.  Keep it scientific.  I just had that talk with my nine year old.  He knew the babies grow in the mom's tummy stuff, but he wasn't buying that is the REAL and TOTAL answer.  LOL  So I stuck to the basics of anatomy, and added that it is something that should happen ONLY in a marital relationship.  Go ahead, give me a thumbs down.  LOL

  11. just tell him, not like hes not gunna hear it in a couple years anyway from his friends, just dont give gross details, just be like . .

mommy's and daddy's have kids when they are in love and married.

    : )

  12. He's old enough to know.  Just tell him the truth and be very basic.
