Question:

My A/C unit is ruuning fine but no air is flowing through the vents?

The outside unit is running like normal, no ice found on the inside unit, I've checked all the brakers and nothing is tripped... Does anyone know what can be causing this?

Any help would be appreciated!

  1. The outside unit condenses the coolant.  There is a fan under the house, or in the Attic, that pushes the household air through the vents.  That is the one that isn't working.

The cause can be a cat or rat caught in the fan, the fan burning out, or a simple tripped circuit breaker.

    Good luck

  2. NO air through the vents? AND no ice on the coils? That makes no sense for a standard a/c unit. That would almost have to be more than one failure at the same time for a standard type unit.

It almost sounds like a heat pump unit stuck in defrost.

But you didn't tell us much about it except it isn't working and then all I can tell is that something has failed.

    Good Luck anyway.

  3. Your evaporator fan, either inside (if split unit) or outside if contained unit has gone bad. It was trying to tell you it was sick when it kept tripping the breaker. Could be the bearings or bushings in the motor went bad and now the windings are probably open due to breaker not tripping...

  4. Be sure the fan is working first as it's separate from the motor.

You may need to go up in the attic to see if air is escaping up there.  Check the ductwork, the registers and the main box. (I've had that happen before.)
