Question:

My AIM is blocked! How do I avoid the block?

My library has a security program that has somehow figured out how to block my AIM program on my laptop from accessing the internet and letting me sign on. The program comes up with an error saying that its connection was lost. What can I do, if anything, to allow my AIM program to access the internet? My MSN Messenger program is still able to access...only my AIM is having trouble.

  1. You could try going to aim.com and loging into your mail accont. Normally AIM should appear on the right side for you to log into there. If you can't do that then the library you are at probably has a firewall that blocks certain programs and sites. There is nothing you can do about that. I would suggest going somewhere else to get an internet connection. Good Luck

    Also try meebo.com

  2. I've never seen anything like that  before but maybe try Trillian?  It allows you to sign in to 5 different chat clients at the same time, including ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and AIM. (Don't remember the last one).

It can be downloaded free from cerulean studios at:

    http://www.trillian.cc/downloads/

To get pro you have to pay a fee, but it's not required and you won't be missing anything if you don't.  No ads or adware. I've used it and enjoyed it. It may be able to access even if AIM is not.

    Hope that helps
