My AU Falcon Futura Automatic won't start in park but will start in neutral.?

I have an 1998 AU Falcon Futura. I can't start the car in park, I can hear the fuel pump going but the engine doesn't turn over. If the shifter is in the neutral position the car starts fine. Why won't it start in park.

Either the neutral safety switch is out of adjustment in relation to the linkage or the contacts in the switch have gone bad.Try wiggling the shifter in park while you turn the key.If it starts it probably just needs adjusting.

the neutral safety switch is failing. you need to get it replaced before it goes belly up.

Either your park pin or selector switch is buggered.
