Question:

My Acura Legend 1991 every once in a while gets stuck and I can't turn?

it all the way when i'm trying to start the car in the ignition, then i'll take the key out a few times and try turning it then it will eventually turn and I can start the car, it happens in winter and summer by the way.

  1. There is a steering lock function on most cars...jiggle the wheel left and right whilst turning the key. Also some cars...most Hondas/Acuras have a transmission lock (auto transmission only) which prevents the car from starting unless it is in P (Park) or N (Neutral) and the brake pedal is engaged. You probably already know these things. If this doesn't help it could be one of three problems.

    1. The key is worn out (if it opens your doors fine this isn't the problem).

    2 The barrels in the ignition are worn (the key will move excessively and possibly come out even in start position) You will need to replace the barrels in the ignition coil.

    3. The ignition coils is worn out and the contacts are no longer connecting properly (replace the ignition coil).
