My African Pygmy Hedgehog's Ears Are Tattered At The Ends?

I think I have a pretty healthy hedgehog, but I've always been wondering why her ears became shredded at the ends. Is this common in African hedgehogs? She's perfectly content, but I just find it a little strange.

You might want to have her checked for mites or a fungal infection - sometimes ears get shredded because they're itchy and get scratched a lot.

However, it might just be dry skin, which is pretty common. You can use cocoa butter or vitamin E drops to help soften and moisturize their skin.
