  1. don't sell yourself short. yours and the recruiters goals are different.

  2. The military matches what MOS (job identifier) they give you based on that score... a low score and youll be infantry or mechanic, I got a 98 and they put me in school to be a computer programmer/analyst....

so 95 means you get to do a good job that will get you a job on the outside when you leave the military

  3. Wait a sec...

You've got a 95 on your ASVAB and you joined DEP without being guaranteed a specific school for a specific job!?!?!?!

That's crazy. 95 Asvab is really great. You need to tell your recruiter to give you some job choices BEFORE you sign your papers and go off to basic training. Get a guaranteed training school for a specific, guaranteed job!!!

Get it in writing. If it's not in writing, don't go!

Don't let your recruiter sell you on that BS about "Oh, you can just pick a job and get trained for it after basic training." Don't fall for that line. Get a guaranteed training school and a guaranteed job BEFORE you leave DEP and go off to basic training. Get it in writing.

If your recruiter won't give you that, give him the finger and leave DEP. With a 95 asvab score, you should pretty much be able to choose almost any job you want.

  4. It means you wont be a mechanic in the airforce...  You will be doing something that requires a little more brain power.  Congrats... your smart.
