I have a Lanzar MXA232 Amplifier... I had two 12 inch MA Audio MA120 subs hooked up to it... I recently just got a cheap little amp for my speakers.. 4 channel 100 watts max per channel, 50 rms per channel... I got a new wiring kit also.. its a diesel audio 4 gauge and 8 gauge... I hooked up my knew kit to my lanzar except the 4 gauge ground wire.. i had my original 8 gauge from my old kit cause i didnt feel like grounded the knew one. The amp and subs all worked, i had the 4 gauge power wire with a fuse near the battery run to a distribution block, with an 8 gauge going to the amp. the other amp still wasnt hooked up cause i was grounded so my dad didnt give it to me for my bday. Everything worked perfectly fine. subs where loud as **** and the help was making them pound. The other night i wired my other amp in the back. this time i used that 4 gauge ground for this one. i had the ground on a bolt under my seat. everything was wired for that amp except speakers i was just checking if i powered it right. it turned on and blew the fuse instantly. it was late so i just packed up. next mornign it did the smae thing. today i swicthed my lanzar the the 4 gauge ground and put the other amp on the old ground. ran the RCA's. front and rear to the 4 channel, sub woofer to the lanzar. ran two remote wires, one to each.. and had the power and grounds in. i put the battery terminals back on and i heard a pop.. checked my lanzar fuse and it was blown. the other amp ran fine. tried a new fuse, did the same thing. tried multiple times. i hooked subs up to the 4 channel, and they worked, not that loud but they played. my dad who has known electrical **** for 30 years, not car audio tho, connected only the ground and power to the lanzar, he thought there is a short, i connected the battery and it blew the fuse and the amp started smoking.. i have an extra amp, before i hook it up tho what is my problem? i wanna have 2 amps one for subs and other for speakers, so should i re ground the 4 gauge? its ground on a bolt that holds my seat belt buckle and seat belt strap on teh car

Whats the problem?

please help my i dont wanna keep bying amps and blowing them out

  1. something is wrong with your wiring or your amp is not stable for what ohm load you are useing

  2. Remove all the output connections you have such as speaker out, audio out, amp out etc etc. then try to switch your AMP or connect the power to your car battery and see if it does blow the same fuse. If it does not then you have to connect the output device one at a time and see if it does blow the fuse and determine when and what last output device was connected when the fuse blows up. You will then know which is causing it and then check the connection and the wiring of the output device that's causing it. Better yet remove everything except for the Power + and the ground and see if the fuse still blows up and proceed to trace which output or connection is causing it one at a time.  Try this also but this is most unlikely : check your inputs as well as one of them maybe causing a steady flow of input signal fed into your input connections such as grounded input or wrong connection.

  3. i would try to find a better ground if that doesnt work i dont know what to tell you
