  1. It sounds like your safety (pressure relief) valve has gone, should'nt be a dear job a new valve is under a tenner. get a plumber to sort it .

  2. Is your boiler a Combi?

If so then this problem is probably a faulty pressure relief valve (as mentioned above) or maybe the expansion vessel has lost pressure.

What happens when you put your heating on??

Best advice it to call a Corgi registered engineer to sort the problem for you.

  3. Its most likely to be the expansion vessel, its either burst or needs recharged with air. When you put the boiler on and the water heats up,the expansion vessel compensates for the increase in pressure. If the vessel is faulty then the pressure will increase and when it reaches 3 bar it will dump the hot water via the pressure relief valve.

The vessel can be recharged using a foot pump with a gauge on it.Drain off the boiler, charge the vessel up to around .75 to 1 bar.The vessel is normally located at the back, red in colour with a Schroeder valve like a car tyre on it.

If the vessel wont hold a charge then it must be burst and needs replaced. Some times its easier to fit an external vessel on the pipework below the boiler.
