My Audacity doesn't shows "LINE IN" help i have to finish the cd before friday?

I download audacity version "1.2.6" to record my songs by a guitar and a drum machine.any way when i select mic volume it records very low,but in my friends house he got the same version and when i select line in it records normal,plz help i need to make the cd before friday

Mic records mono only which probably accounts for the volume issue. As far as it not showing up, you could try checking the volume control for your system and make sure a line in is listed, if not you may need to update your audio drivers.

Put quite simply, reinstall. If that doesn't work, try selecting inputs other than line in. Not all computers have a line in, most of the time it is the microphone input that you need.
