  1. There was nobody of that name registered up until December 2005 which, at the moment, is the date at which on line data finishes. To find the record after that date, it is necessary to search the actual registers at a register office.

Your aunt could try contacting the  Department of Work and Pensions at   http://www.dwp.gov.uk/ they might be able to tell her if her husband has died and advise if she can claim his pension.

  2. I have checked the BMD register on www.ancestry.co.uk and like the other person said there is no one with that name registered, there are variants of it but then the birth date is different. 1984 -2005 are on line index no searching through thousands of names, they are very accurate, and give the whole birth date as well  now.

Like the other person suggested it might be an idea to contact the GRO, or you could try the Salvation Army, they do an amazing job in this kind of search.

    hope this helps.

  3. All I can think of is for her to visit her local Citizens Advice Bureau in the UK. But if your Aunt lives outside of the UK then that would not be an option but you could try contacting them by email or phone:

Were they divorced and if so: did he definitely not remarry. If he remarried that could pose a bigger problem. Either way I think your Aunt needs to find a Lawyer really who should be able to sort this for her. Would your Aunty qualify for any kind of legal aid if she is on a low income.

If he had died between 1984 and 2005 you could have used the following website to find the record. I just ran a search and did not find any record for that name so it looks like if he did die it would have been outside of 2005, as your Aunt suspects:

Are you sure he is not still living. If you know where he might have died you could try contacting the local register office to see if they can help finding a death registration.

Someone on here may be better able to advise you.

    Best wishes.
