My Australian relative is joining a Princess offhore cruise to St. Ptersburg, does he need a Russian visa?

I was told that if you are a US citizen or Canadian, you do not need any visa casue you are under the umberlla of Princess cruise line, other than that you need to check with your counsulate. He did and did not get any clear answer, does anyone know? Or is there any Australian friend took the Princess cruise and its St. Pertersburg excursion?

You don't need a visa as it's a group visa that's arranged by the cruise line. What you do need is a valid passport to leave the dock area and to return.

There is also a landing card that you complete on board and give to the Russian Authorities when you go ashore.
