I have had him for a year and im fixing to switch him over to F/T prey but whileholding him i noticed on his back he has some spots that look like the scale was removed.I have checked him for the past half hour for mites and he has none The humidity in his cage isnt very high so i decided maybe his scales like dried up so i soaked him for a little bit and then misted hm and his enclosure.. He had problems during his last shed, could it be because i rubbed the dried skin (some came off) with a moist Q-tip to try to help him out. i dont have a camera though so i cant take a picture. another thing i have anoticed is there is a lip on the inside of the top of the cage and he squeezes himself inbetween it and the lid as if he is trying to push the lid off. Please answer seriously and fast.

  1. Did he just finish shedding? Because sometimes If there shed is sort of in peices, There maybe just leftovers and he's trying to get it off. (note: If his shed comes off in one big peice he's healthy.) And water actually dries it out more. The heat lamp could be a little to hot too. Cool his cage down a few degrees and keep it like that for a while. As for the missing scales, he was either born a little pye-bald, or something sharp pulled them off. If you take off a full-colored normal scale, it usually doesn't grow back. Also take him to a vet in case.
