Question:

My Beelzebufo?

I have a pet "frog from h**l" and I'm wondering about changing his eating habits. So far I have been feeding him mice and large rats, but he's getting huge. I had to get him a massive new habitat and everything.

Will I just need to continue getting him more rats or will he eventually need kittens for sustenance? I'm not sure how I feel about feeding him kittens. His name is Ted, by the way.

  1. kittens?! wow your sick! at least feed it a bunny or baby bunny. i know people who feed their HUGE boas baby bunnies but kittens? thats really screwed up. i hope that fricken frog eats you!

  2. You're overlooking the obvious food source here. Chinchillas are both delicious and nutritious, perfect for the growing amphibian.

Many chinchilla owners have trouble with their pets (personality clashes, theft of pizza and so on) and would be delighted to let you take the little rodents off their hands.

If Ted the Toad eventually grows too large for chinchillas to sustain him, there is one final option. Put him in a room with a large and vicious cat -- I'm willing to offer mine -- and see which one emerges victorious.

  3. well. I'd suggest baby dinosaurs, to mimic the natural diet.

  4. Feed it kittens....that`s one way to get rid of all those nasty cats..I used to feed my gator kittens and cats..

  5. If rats are too small for your frog buy some rabbits.

  6. The first thing I'd like to know is where you're buying your rats, cause some one sure is ripping you off!  Rats get MUCH bigger than kittens!

As for kittens as an option - I hope you're just a 'bad lil boy' who is going for 'shock value' by posing this as an option.  (Not to mention that Animal control would be down your throat like white on rice.)

No dear, kittens are NOT the solution.  The next feeder option larger than rats is RABBITS.  Feeder rabbits and culls (animals with malocclusion, tumors, or feeders raised for the purpose, etc.).  They range in size from small rat right up 30 pounds (Flemish Giants - I know.  I ran a rabbitry for years).

So - how big can that frog get?  Either way, you have a lot of size 'grades' using rabbits as the next feeder item.

Find a rabbit breeder in your area, and arrange to take her/his 'culls' (animals not fit for selling as pets or food, for some reason or other).

Be a responsible pet owner, and stop trying to get cat fanciers to locate your home address!

I hope this has been helpful (you rascal, you!).

    Enjoy your pet!

  7. I've got a cat you can have.
