Question:

My Belly Button Piercings Doing Weird Things. Help. :(?

Ive Had My Belly Pierced For About 8 Months Now, Almost 9. And It Was Fine Until A Month Or So Ago. I Talked To My Aunt, Who Does Piercings And She Said I Have A Keloid. Keeloid. Whatever. So She Said To Get Some Witch Hazel, And Swab My Belly Button With It Each Day. She Also Told Me If It Doesnt Heal Within A Week(This Was A Few Weeks Ago) To Take It Out And Let It Heal. Ive Been Swabbing It Pretty Much Every Day. It Gets Better Some Days But Then Other Days It'll Be Sore And There Will Be A Sort Of Bumpy Thing In The Middle Of The Piercing. Today I Took It Out(I Had To Work Harder Than Usual) And It Started Bleeding Out Of The Top And Bottom Hole. Im Doing Everything I Can To Keep From Having To Take It Out. If Anyone Knows Something I Can Do Please Let Me Know.

ALSO. If Anyone Knows How Long It Will Take To Heal And When I Can Get It Re Pierced Let Me Know That Too. Thanks!

  1. My wife gets Keloids, the only way that she gets rid of them is by having them injected. The problem is if you leave them they can be painful and sensitive.

  2. You more than likely do not have a keloid.  They're incredibly rare and do not just go away within a week.  You probably have hypertrophic scarring.  Go have a professional piercer other than your aunt check it out and ask their opinion on the condition of it.  I'd continue to clean it 2-3 times a day with a sea salt solution until you can get to a piercer.  Also, I've never heard of witchhazel doing anything for scarring since it's really just a toner, but a lot of people swear by tea tree oil.

  3. You should take it out, it will probably take approximately a year to completely heal.  Unfortunately, you may be prone to this condition and won't be able to have your belly pierced.  Sorry.  I hope I helped. ;)

  4. ive had this happen. it was just my belly ring though. like i got it from walmart & since it was dangly thats what made it infected.

i didnt have to let mine heal, i just used proxide. twice a day, for about 4 days & got a new ring.

    its all better now :)
