My Bike handle bar keeps on shifting back and forth when i ride?what should i do? is it the headset?

my handle bar keeps moving back and forth losely every time i add pressure going back and forth to the handle bar and every time i stand on the bike. what should i do o.o need help please

it could also be your headset, if it is out of adjustment it can cause movement also.  but it's about 1/4 of an inch 2 or 3 mm

Ty above gave you the answer for if  the handlebars rotate up and down.

If the handlebars rotate parallel to the ground, you need to tighten the stem.

On some bikes this is a bolt in the middle of the stem that tightens the stem inside the head tube.

On other bikes it is some bolts that hold the handlebars onto a collar around the stem.

a bicycle?

if so, take a hex wrench and tighten up the bolts that hold in the bars and the bolts that hold the headset to the forks.

if that doesn't work, rip it apart ans rough up all those surfaces that touch.
