My Blackberry Pearl is slow and its causing problems. Can you help me?

Question

I just got the Pearl about 4 days ago. Everything was fine at first but now I cannot get incoming calls for some reason. When I call my phone, an hourglass comes up on the screen and from the land line I am calling from it rings like 6 times and then goes to my voice mail. After i hang up I get a message on the phone saying that I have 1 missed call.

Why am I not receiving this call like I normally would?

The whole phone seems slow. I dont know if I need to delete things or something? Its brand new!

i would  take  it  back.  it could  be  a faulty  device.  i had a problem  with my  8310 not reading media cards.  took it back  they said the device was a bad one no problem  got a new on  no problems.  the slowing  problem  make sure you have a media card  save  nothing  on  your  device  no  ringtones  no pics  no  vids  no  music  leave the device free as possible.  delete  the sample  vid sample tones  sample  pics  free up  space

Start by doing a hard reset first: remove the battery from the device (while the device is still powered on) for 10 seconds, then reinsert. See if the problems continue. You might also follow the steps in the link below to help maximize the memory on the BlackBerry:

If these still fail after another week then I would return the device.
