My Blackberry pearl keeps jamming?

why is it that my Blackberry Pearl is jamming when I make phone calls the hour glass keeps turning and then deletes my in/out coming calls and my text messages delete. and it happens when people call me? What is happening to my phone? Verizon was no help

  1. This is caused by the device having a low amount (or none at all) of internal memory. When the internal memory gets lower (lower than 12MB in some cases, although there is not a set number) the device will start deleting messages and/or call logs to conserve memory. You can check your available memory by going to Options > Status and checking the File Free parameter.

    The quickest way to free up some memory is to perform a hard reset. Remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered on) for about 10 seconds, then reinsert. Also, look at the links below for ways to maximize the memory:

  2. The memory gets full, and the machine will turn things like text messaging off to save memory for voice calling.

    I recommend buying the biggest memory card available (2GB at least).

    The manufacturer recommends powering off the phone, removing the battery for a minute, and rebooting.  That should clear some junk files and open up enough memory to help.

    There may eventually be a software update that will fix this problem permanently.  Don't lie awake at night waiting for it though.
