  1. IDK why you can't go, I went to all of my husbands graduations.. maybe he doesn't want u there, did u talk to him yet.. He probably just wants to go party right after.

  2. a simple phone call should clear up that question.

  3. It is called One Station Unit Training (OSUT) and it is not uncommon. Most of the combat arms training is done in OSUT and the "basic training" is like your freshman year at college when you knock out all your pre-requisites (the classes everyone has to have to graduate). His AIT is like once youve decided on a major and focus the rest of your studies in a specific discipline. All of his training will be at the same place with the same people and will just run together. Im guessing he is going to be Infantry Armor Artillery or somthing similar?

  4. Where is he doing his basic training at? At Fort Benning, GA I think that is how it works - they do all of their training in one cycle and then there is only one graduation. Other than that, usually you can attend both graduations.

    Edit:

I'm confused as to why you can't attend his basic training graduation. Maybe he was misinformed or he misunderstood what they told him and thought that you couldn't. I would double check with him to find out for sure why you wouldn't be able to.

  5. I attended OSUT at Fort Sill about 10 years ago, and I honestly don't remember if we had an official Gradation from Basic.  Basic ended one day, and AIT started the next.  Same barracks, same Drill Sergeants, same everything.  My family did come for my AIT graduation.  If he is doing OSUT, there may not be a formal graduation from Basic, only AIT.  I'm not sure.  I wouldn't worry.

  6. No, family members and such can attend basic training graduation. Graduating recruits do not leave for AIT on the same day they graduate.

  7. Yes, you can go to graduation they will sent his mom a paper that tells the time and dates like a couple weeks before he graduate.

  8. My brother went to FT. Benning in GA.

we got to go to his basic training.

  9. My son graduate Sept.19 from Fort Sill and family is encouraged to go. I don't know about AIT graduation. He's staying At Fort Sill for artillery training. Good luck and thank him for his service.

  10. Unfortunately I don't think it is.  I just got back from Missouri to see my fiance's brother graduate from Basic Training. He's on a bus ride to San Antonio Texas right now for AIT training.  He hasn't told us yet whether or not we're allowed to go to his AIT graduation but we went to his Basic Training graduation.  From the sounds of it everyone has told me that we aren't allowed to go to the AIT training but I'm not sure if that is true or not.  I don't think what he does at AIT would keep you from being able to come see him.  But while they're in AIT they are supposed to get the nights and weekends off so if you live decently close to his AIT base you should drive down and see him on a weekend.

    Good Luck!!

  11. i think you are allowed to go to his basic training graduation, i was allowed to go to my boyfriends husband now. And my husband went straight to his AIT so you dont have to worry about that but he will be back soon and if you really love him i sugest that you get married i mean if your ready and your not still in school that way you can go with him to were ever they send him after his ait because it is more likely that he wont be in his home town after he graduates and i dont know about the AIT graduation mine hasnt graduated yet good luck.

  12. there are alot of variables there.  What is his MOS, if the answer is infantry then there is no break between the two.  There should be a familyday or graduation between most other training courses but I cannot garuntee it.  Maybe his mother just chooses to go to the AIT graduation and not the basic training one.  The AIT graduation would be better to attend if you have to choose one because the soldier would be allowed to take leave between AIT and his first duty station.  In toher words you would have more time with him.

  13. Don't you think, you are a little OTT?

if you can not trust him now, any point of contiue your relation?

  14. He's at Ft Leonard Wood.  They have OSUT(one station unit training).  That means that he will have a very short lived BCT graduation and will report for AIT that same day.  Therefore, he's right...you'll only be able to go to his AIT graduation.

If his AIT was at a different location, then he would have had a normal BCT graduation like how everyone else is talking about.

Chemical AIT is conducted there at Leonard Wood.
