Question:

My Brandnew Speaker Sound is not Crisp?

I have purchased a 40 WATT PA amplifier and i had a set of speakers consisted of 2 smalls speakers (20W max40W), 1 CENTER speaker (30W max60W) and 1 TOWER speaker (100W max200W). The other tower is not available. I connect them correctly with proper calculation of the impedance which is in this case 8ohms. When I hook up the system to an external playback source the sound that it produces is not Sharp. Its not Crisp and touching as it should be. The Bass sound is sort of mixed with the Tone and make the song kinda tiring for ears after a while. Do you know where the problem might be? Can't be wires either cause i used fine low gauge wires.

  1. What brand is your speakers and what type of speaker wire did you use? Also what external source are you using?

40 Watts is not allot to drive that many speakers and if it is not a true 40 watts if would sound worse.

  2. What type of set up are you trying to achieve?!?

A PA amplifier is a -P-ublic -A-ddress amplifier.  At 40 watts it sounds like a small Radio-Shack type PA/Paging system.

You list four(4) speakers, 2 small, 1 Ctr and 1 Tower.  What the Heck?  Most PA amplifiers have only two(2) channels.
