My Broad Band connection goes off ?

When I connect a phone to the same bt extension socket which also connects the broad band, I loose the broad band connection,with or with out a filter connected,when I unplug the phone the broad band connection is ok.The phone seems to work ok with or with out the broad band connection?

  1. ADSL oh dear. Switch to cable if you can. Dedicated line no problem.


  2. your filter is faulty or you are connecting incorrectly. All your phones must connect from the BT white connector side of the filter through it to the line. The dsl connection must be to the rj11 square side of the connector to the line. NOTHING must connect direct to the wall socket.

  3. bad filter or faulty wiring , best to buy an ADSL filter face plate then you don't need put filters on your phone

  4. Try using a new DSL filter, If that doesn't work ring your ISP who should arrange for a BT engineer to check the socket you are using, provided you are at the master socket.
