I'm not sure why, but suddenly my CD-ROM won't load any CD's. I put my Movies game disc in and click on the icon but it says to insert the CD when it is already in the drive. I know it isn't the CD because it does that for everything else.

Also, whenever I pop a CD in, it shows the loading sign next to my cursor as if it is reading it, but nothing happens. I don't know why. I've restarted my computer many times, and it still does that. I have a Vista laptop. Please help, thanks in advance.

  1. You may have Autorun off.

Check you can't open them in My computer.. Otherwise its the job of a computer technition

  2. THE DRIVE MIGHT HAVE GONE BAD ON YOU.ALSO,YOU COULD TRY A OPTICAL DRIVE CLEANING KIT.THAT MIGHT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. BUT ITS PROBABLY THE ACTUAL OPTICAL DRIVE THATS BAD.OPEN UP THE DEVICE MANAGER AND CHECK ALL THE PROPERTIES OF THE CD/DVD DRIVE.MAYBE A DRIVER OR SOMETHING ELSE MAY HAVE BEEN DISABLED.
