My Campbell dwarf russian hamster has swollen and very sore looking forelegs!!?

Please help!!This morning i noticed that my dwarf russian hamster (male) has very sore, red and swollen forelegs. Also, i realised that his backside is much larger than usual...has anyone had the same experience and if yes what is it and how can it be treated?

That doesn't sound like any common condition that i am aware of, I would suggest taking him to the vet if possible! ( i know that can be expensive though)

If it looks painful, you can give him a VERY small part of a non-aspirin pain-reliever.  (Aspirin is a blood thinner).  I would possibly wait a day or two to see if he gets better, he may have just fallen and hurt himself.  It would be best to get him to a vet, but if not just try to make sure he is eating and drinking.  If his legs do not look better soon though, i would really try to make it to a vet!

BEST ADVISE TAKE HIM TO THE VET I AM NOT AN EXPERT BUT THE LEGS COULD BE FRACTURED. DID HE FALL????????? PLEASE TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!!!!

Take him to a vet rightaway. Do not wait for it to become alright on its own or put any home medicines on the wounds.

Hamsters' feet are very sensitive since they use it all the time for all their activities. If he goes around playing and walking with his swollen feet, he is definitely going to get his legs into more trouble.

His backside looks larger because he is hunching due the hurt in his forelegs.

The vet would provide the right antibiotics to prevent any infections to his feet and probably bandage them so that he does not stress his feet till the wounds heal.

Remove all wood shavings from his cage, maybe the wood shavings are causing wounds to his feet. Use only aspen shavings and Carefresh for bedding.

Remove the exercise wheel from his cage so that he does not run on it and make his feet injury even worse.
